How Writing Allows Me To Stay At Home With My Little Boy
I absolutely adore my little boy and the fact that I get to stay at home with him. This is because I finally made a decision to give up my outside job and work at home full time as a freelance writer. Although it can be hard to write full time with the needs of my little man, I do make a decent living at it. Well at least enough to supplement my husbands paycheck.
Each day I get to decide when I want to begin my workday. Typically, it starts after I give my little one his morning bottle and cereal. I sit down for a couple hours while he takes his morning snooze in front of the TV and begin jotting down my thoughts that I will soon be putting into words. When it’s quiet, the words and thoughts just come right out of me.
I have to break from time to time during the day to attend to my little man’s needs and keep the housework up, but I am able to get a few good hours in each day and night which is just fine with me. It helps to pay the bills and let’s me be home with my little boy, right where I belong. Now if only I could find some time to grab my red beach towel and go lay out in the sun for my much needed tan, that would be fabulous because I certainly do need one. I’m not complaining though as I have the life that many mothers wish they could have.
