Go Go Design Go!

Most of us walk past (and are exposed to via TV) advertisements and signs every day, but how often do we stop and try and work out what they actually mean to us? As well as saving energy, Enigin ponder questions like this and many more over at their design blog.

What has energy saving got to do with design you may well ask? Well, actually quite a lot. The Enigin dudes employ design to make energy saving matters more fun and accessible to the general public. Without quality design in place, it would be accurate to say that energy saving might look slightly boring and therefore not taken as seriously as many of us would like.

Design is just one of the many things that Enigin are bothered about. On their other blogs they discuss money and commerce and internet marketing, along with energy saving devices, like the ’eniscope'that they believe will make a significant difference in years to come.

I found the above post interesting for a few reasons. 1) It made me think about things in a different way. 2) It made me remember how critical design is in a world where so many companies are fighting for attention. 3) It made me think, again, about the positive effects of quality design. And if the effect of a decent website about energy saving is more people tuning in to this important cause and doing something about it, I can’t think of a better way to go about doing things.
